Teg Davies - Company Stage Manager
After graduating in Fine Art in 1974 Teg has been fortunate in being able to combine theatre and art as a career. Scenic art and design together with stage management in a variety of venues – fringe, repertory and touring in most parts of the UK and Europe – eventually led to the West End.
Work in the West End included the original productions of Annie, Evita, Les Liaisons Dangereuses, Little Shop of Horrors, Lady Day, The Gambler, the 21st anniversary tour of The Rocky Horror Show, Blues in the Night, Fascinating Aida, Stop in the Name of Love, Boyband, Under the Doctor, Arthur Miller’s award winning Broken Glass, and a long standing relationship with Stephen Daldry’s production of An Inspector Calls, for which he was recently Production Co-ordinator.
More recent work saw Teg as both General and Production Manager of the centenary tour of The Hound of the Baskervilles, and Production Consultant for Through the Leaves with Simon Callow for Stanhope Productions.
Teg’s most memorable events include working with Vivien Merchant in Old Times, working with Richard Burton, Elizabeth Taylor, Geraint Evans, Eartha Kit, James Mason and Elisabeth Welch, not together!
Over the years his paintings have been exhibited throughout the UK and Europe and scenic art work includes Edward Gorey’s Designs for Dracula with Terence Stamp at the Shaftesbury Theatre, Old Wicked Songs (Bob Hoskins), Birdy, Tartuffe, Sleuth, The Woman in Black, Amadeus, a second Les Liaisons Dangereuses, and the Royal Family.
Together with his other love, ballet, Teg now helps run West Hampstead School of Dance with his wife Gillian Winn. Having been appointed Senior Company Manager some years ago for P.W. Productions, Teg is delighted to be associated with this wonderful piece of theatre: The Woman in Black.
