There have been some-real life spooky happenings at The Fortune Theatre. Previous cast member Sebastian Harcombe, and actress Nathalie Bloch have both experienced some ghostly encounters.
Just before Nathalie walked on stage during the grave-yard scene in act 1, she felt that somebody was coming up the stairs behind her in the stage right wing. Not having time to look before she had to make her appearance, she entered the stage. At this point in the show, Sebastian turns to look at Nathalie, who appears as if my magic, and went white as he recalls that he saw two figures. Both of the actors continued with the performance, assuming it was one of the stage management team playing a trick on them. During the interval, it was discovered that the ASM was actually stage left at that point in the show and nowhere near the ghostly sighting. Later that week, Sebastian also saw a grey female figure who appeared numerous times in one of the lower boxes at the Fortune Theatre.
These spooky visions came after there was a break-in at the theatre, and it is believed that the ghost has come to protect the theatre and keep an eye on everything that has been going on.
