The Woman In Black first appeared in the West End in February 1989 at the Strand Theatre, moving later that year to the The Fortune Theatre, Russell Street WC2, in the heart of London's West End. An enviable location, The Fortune was designed by Ernest Schaufelberg in 1924 and opened on November 8, 1924 with the play 'Sinners'. It has since gained a well earned reputation in London's t heatre circles for its ability to draw quality productions and audiences alike.
